Cashman had a lot to say today

As I've been sitting here with braces on both wrists (Hello, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome!) I've been watching as tweets fly by from beat writers that consist of quips from GM Brian Cashman. He had a conference call earlier and had a lot to say about injured players, upcoming matchups and he's compared the Yankees to Sisyphus, you know, rolling the big rock up a hill only to have it roll back down? In the Yankees' case, it's as if the rock is running over them over and over and over again.

Now, since I'm still wearing my braces and I am in absolute agony, I'm going to be completely lazy and paste those tweets here. I realize that not everyone has a Twitter account so this actually all may be breaking news for some of you. For those have already seen these quotes, I apologize.

This is a big one, I think, from Andy McCullough of the Star Ledger:

Can you imagine if Alex Rodriguez actually makes it back to the team before Derek Jeter? I do realize there's still a chance he gets suspended for the Biogenesis mess but if he doesn't, he could be back by the start of the second half. Craig Calcaterra explains A-Rod's timetable here.

Up next, Bryan Hoch of

Michael Pineda is progressing nicely. This is a good thing.

Eric Boland of Newsday tweets:

Oy. Did they rush Mark Teixeira back? Apparently Cashman is a little miffed because hitting coach Kevin Long said that he believes Tex has been hurt this whole time. Cashman claims it was never brought up internally.

Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News has more from Cashman, this time on Don Mattingly who is returning to Yankee Stadium for the first time since becoming manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers:

I will be one of those fans tomorrow night and I cannot wait. Hopefully, Mother Nature will cooperate.

Time to ice my wrists again, if any breaking news comes out, we'll have it for you.
