Breaking... Kendry Morales Coming to the Yankees...

Here is the story from

Gut Reaction - This story broke as I was recording on the Bronx Beat Podcast. Our initial reaction was that this could signify that the Yankees are not optimistic about a player or some players who are injured.

My initial take is that this could be and indication that the Yankees are concerned about the health of one of their sluggers with the speculation being Giancarlo Stanton or Aaron Judge. We already know that surgery for Miguel Andujar (which would, in all likelihood, end his season) is not off the table. There is talk about Giancarlo Stanton’s shoulder. Aaron Boone’s quote about Stanton’s shoulder is actually our Tweet of the Day for tomorrow (May 15).

Whoever the player is, it seems the Yankees are concerned enough to be making deals to try to solidify the team. Morales in an interesting player to get - a former slugger, soon to be 36 years old, and seemingly past his prime. He’s off to a dreadful start this year (.206/1/7).

Stay tuned…

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders:
Despite the well-worn path between Scranton and the Bronx these days, the RailRiders have an 18-14 record. They are only one game behind Syracuse in the International League North Division. The RailRiders started May off with a solid seven game win-streak. They dropped a couple games, but are poised to go on another run, beating Toldeo 5-1 in their last contest.
