On the Cusp of the 2019 New Years Eve Ball Dropping:

As with the most important things in our world, New York City is the place to be. At this time of the year with the most celebrated holiday traditions, including the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, the Rockettes at Radio City, and most widely celebrated of all - the New Years Eve Ball Dropping in Times Square.

Each year, news anchors, celebrities, and crazy people who wish to stand outside for hours in the cold, come together with musical performances, year-end news wrap-ups, and a variety of other events and interviews to keep eyes on televisions as everybody at home waits for the clock to strike midnight.

The famous names of the New Year will forever be remembered with Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest, yet one name- entirely the reasoning behind the most important ball-dropping in New York City history- goes forgotten.

As we move into 2019, and the 10th Year Anniversary of this event, I would like to take one of the upcoming 525,600 minutes to remember Luis Castillo for his infamous role in New York City History and share here this most important ball-dropping moment:

Here is to a Happy and Healthy 2019 from all of us here at Start Spreading the News!

Happy Birthday Graig Nettles!!! (Yankeeography)

As the Yankees and their fans enjoy a rare off-day on the calendar, let's spend some time tonight remembering and paying tribute to a great former Yankee - Graig Nettles.

When I was growing up, Nettles was my favorite player.  His defense and power were amazing to watch.  He was a great player and leader on the 1977 and 1978 World Champion teams.

Today also just happens to be Nettles' 74th birthday.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY #9!
